Queens Of The Stone Age Announce Intimate European ‘Catacombs’ Tour, Including Special London Show

by | Jul 15, 2025

Queens Of The Stone Age have today unveiled details of their eagerly awaited Catacombs European Tour – a string of uniquely atmospheric shows inspired by their acclaimed 2024 Alive In The Catacombs performance. The tour, set for October 2025, will include a standout UK date at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 29th October, promising a rare and intimate reimagining of the band’s formidable back catalogue.

Inspired by last summer’s now-legendary concert filmed in the depths of the Paris Catacombs – the first legally sanctioned performance in the historic ossuary – the Catacombs tour will bring that eerie, stripped-back experience to life in some of Europe’s most iconic venues. The shows promise a theatrical reinterpretation of QOTSA’s sound, blending acoustic instrumentation, strings, and immersive visuals.

Before embarking on this atmospheric autumn run, Queens Of The Stone Age are set to headline Victorious Festival in Portsmouth this August – a fitting showcase of their powerful live presence and enduring popularity.

The band said of the new tour: “These performances will twist the volume knob in both directions. We’re revisiting songs from across our catalogue, reimagined to honour the spirit of that night beneath Paris.”

The announcement includes stops in Milan, Berlin, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, and London. Notably absent from the schedule – for now – is Paris, the city that inspired the original concept. But the band reassured fans via social media: “Paris, our muse, we haven’t forgotten you. More info coming soon. À bientôt…”

Tickets go on general sale at 10 am local time on Friday 18th July, with select presales earlier in the week. Fans are encouraged to “dress appropriately” for what the band is billing as a theatrical, immersive evening—hinting at a full-sensory experience that steps far outside the traditional rock gig format.

Ahead of the tour, Queens Of The Stone Age bestowed a stunning clip from their Alive in the Catacombs cinematic and musical opus on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, treating a national television audience to utterly unique performance footage of the songs Running Joke / Paper Machete. Watch below:

Formed in 1996 by frontman Josh Homme following the dissolution of desert rock pioneers Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age have spent nearly three decades pushing the boundaries of hard rock. Their sound—equal parts heavy, hypnotic, and experimental—has earned them global acclaim and a fiercely loyal fanbase. From the raw, riff-heavy debut album to the mainstream breakthrough of Songs For The Deaf and the dark elegance of …Like Clockwork, QOTSA have consistently defied genre conventions.

Their most recent studio album, In Times New Roman… (2023), marked a return to their sharpest, most sardonic songwriting, while the Alive In The Catacombs performance offered a compelling new chapter—one that now extends into this ambitious new tour.

Whether commanding massive festival stages or descending into the shadows of Europe’s storied theatres, Queens Of The Stone Age continue to evolve with swagger, substance, and a thrilling sense of danger.
