Reneé Rapp Enters Her Villain Era with Explosive New Single ‘Leave Me Alone’ and Announces Sophomore Album ‘Bite Me’

by | May 22, 2025

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Reneé Rapp has officially kicked off a brand-new chapter with the release of her blistering new single, Leave Me Alone—out today via Interscope Records—alongside the announcement of her highly anticipated sophomore album, Bite Me, arriving on 1st August.

Fans had been speculating about a new project ever since Rapp launched her cryptic BITE.ME website, inviting them to “sign a hundred NDAs” and hunt down clues ranging from tattoos to viral posts from Paris Hilton, Charlize Theron, Monica Lewinsky, and more. It’s all part of a narrative about self-ownership and rebellion—of rejecting expectations and reclaiming your story.

Leave Me Alone is a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever been told to tone it down. It celebrates the confident and chaotic, the polished and petty—every messy part of being fully yourself. The single drops with a high-octane music video that captures Rapp surrounded by chaotic, platinum-blonde clones in what begins as a cheeky pillow fight and ends in a full-blown brawl. It’s a visual metaphor for the inner chaos—and power—that fuels this new era, mixing dark humour with unfiltered energy. Watch the video below:

This marks Rapp’s first official release since 2023’s viral hit Not My Fault with Megan Thee Stallion, taken from the Mean Girls film soundtrack where she also reprised her iconic role as Regina George. That track earned her highest day-one streaming numbers to date and culminated in a show-stopping Saturday Night Live performance that put her front and centre in the cultural conversation.

Her debut album Snow Angel already made history last year, notching the biggest first-week sales for a debut album by a female artist in the U.S. in 2023 and spawning the sold-out Snow Hard Feelings Tour, including multiple nights in New York and a standout show at LA’s Greek Theatre.

Now, with Bite Me on the way, Rapp is doubling down on what sets her apart—honesty, unpredictability, and an unshakeable sense of self. Whether through vulnerable ballads or biting anthems like Leave Me Alone, she continues to carve out space as one of pop’s most magnetic new icons.

A rare triple threat, Reneé Rapp has already made waves in Broadway, film & TV, and now music—where her emotional storytelling and powerhouse vocals have won her over 1.4 billion streams globally. From starring in Mean Girls to owning major festival stages like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Governors Ball, she’s proven her ability to command any platform she touches. With multiple MTV VMA nominations, headline tours, and late-night appearances under her belt, Rapp’s rise is nothing short of meteoric.

With Bite Me, Reneé Rapp isn’t just releasing an album—she’s launching a full-blown era. And if Leave Me Alone is any indication, it’s going to be loud, bold, and unapologetically hers.
