Hull duo Seafret are marking ten years since the release of their breakthrough debut album Tell Me It’s Real with a special anniversary edition, arriving on 22nd May—and for the first time ever, the record will be pressed on vinyl.
The release lands in the wake of their latest album Fear Of Emotion, which saw the pair collaborate with artists including James Morrison, KT Tunstall and Katie Gregson-MacLeod, but this moment firmly turns the spotlight back to the record that started it all.
Originally released in 2016, Tell Me It’s Real proved to be a defining statement for Seafret, launching them from emerging artists to a globally recognised act. A decade on, its legacy has only grown—driven in large part by the enduring success of Atlantis, which found a huge new audience after going viral between 2022 and 2024. The track has since surpassed 1.5 billion streams and achieved major chart and certification milestones worldwide.
The album is packed with fan favourites that continue to shape the band’s live sets, including Oceans—whose video famously featured Game Of Thrones alum Maisie Williams—alongside Wildfire, Be There and Give Me Something. Tracks like To The Sea, featuring Rosie Carney, further showcased the duo’s emotive songwriting and stripped-back sound.
Written by frontman Jack Sedman and guitarist Harry Draper, the album’s production was shared between hitmaker Steve Robson and Roy Stride of Scouting For Girls, helping shape its polished yet intimate sound.
Reflecting on the milestone, the band describe Tell Me It’s Real as more than just a debut: a document of their early years, capturing both the highs and struggles of finding their place in music. It’s a sentiment that resonates strongly with fans who have followed their journey from small venues to international stages.
To celebrate the anniversary, Seafret will head out on the 10 Years of Tell Me It’s Real tour this spring, revisiting the songs that defined their beginnings. The run includes a string of UK dates before heading across Europe, with the band also set to headline Between The Trees Festival later this summer.
Ten years on, Tell Me It’s Real stands as a testament to Seafret’s enduring appeal—its emotional honesty and understated beauty continuing to connect with listeners old and new.
