A stunning, melodic love song, It Wouldn’t Be Me tells the story of a woman who has escaped her difficult past, meets someone and falls in love. “I don’t write stories very often” says Hucknall of the song, “but it’s about a girl who is scared of what she used to be. The narrator of the song loves her despite her past and isn’t gonna give up on her”.

Check out the new tune below:

With a career spanning 12 studio albums as Simply Red (five of them Number Ones), two solo albums, back-to-back ASCAP Most Performed Song honours (1987 and 1988) for Holding Back The Years, consecutive Brit Awards (1992 and 1993) for Best British Group, a Brit for Best British Male (1993), the 1997 MOBO for Outstanding Achievement, two Ivor Novellos (1992 Songwriter of the Year; 2002 Outstanding Song Collection), some 60 million album sales, 1.8 billion streams across all streaming platforms worldwide, and over 1 million YouTube subscribers, Mick is ready to continue the ride into the next chapter.

The Darkness Tease ‘Dreams On Toast’ With ‘Rock And Roll Party Cowboy’ Ahead Of UK Tour

The Darkness have released their brand new single Rock And Roll Party Cowboy, the opening track of their forthcoming album Dreams On Toast out March 28th via Cooking Vinyl. The Darkness go hell for leather on the new single, channelling the sounds of hard rock legends such as ZZ Top, Motörhead and Judas Priest with searing solos, hell-raising vocals and a fist-pumping rhythm section to create a tongue-in-cheek reflection on the hedonistic, macho music scene of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
