Sophie Grey Announces New EP ‘Just Another Sonic Monday’ & Shares Live Dates With Sting And SXSW Shows

by | May 20, 2025

Electro-pop artist Sophie Grey has announced her brand-new EP Just Another Sonic Monday, set for release on 30th May 2025 via Cherrytree Music Company. The EP follows the release of her infectious new single On Hold — a shimmering, synth-drenched throwback to the ’80s that has quickly marked SOPHIE as one to watch.

In her signature tongue-in-cheek style, SOPHIE describes the EP as something you’d stumble upon like a digital glitch: “You’re on your phone, flipping through your apps and your screen suddenly flickers. You try to go back to your TikToks, but a message appears in neon: Just Another Sonic Monday ™. This Retro Electro EP is now downloaded. Push Play.”

The upcoming collection promises a deep dive into SOPHIE’s self-coined “Retro Electro” sound – a vivid fusion of synth-pop, soul, and new wave, combining modern production with nostalgic flair. SOPHIE is not only the voice behind the music but also its producer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist, wielding a keytar synth-axe with charisma and command.

Classically trained and mentored by GRAMMY-nominated Patrice Rushen (“Forget Me Nots”), Sophie Grey . studied piano performance at USC’s Thornton School of Music and cut her teeth engineering at LA’s iconic Village Recorder Studios. Her tracks shimmer with live instrumentation, polished production, and unmistakable hooks — as heard on her standout single Dark Lights featuring Robb Bank$, which has already clocked over half a million streams.

This summer, Sophie Grey. takes her sparkling sound to some of Europe’s biggest stages. She’ll be supporting Sting across a slew of UK and EU arena shows, with dates in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and across the UK including Cardiff Castle, Lincoln Castle, and Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park. Before that, she’ll appear at SXSW London and play a headline show at AFAS Live in Amsterdam.

With Just Another Sonic Monday, Sophie Grey looks set to turn heads and win hearts across the continent — one neon-soaked track at a time. Pre-save the new EP here.
