Sound Premiere: The Imagineers, If I See You Again.

by | Jan 30, 2017

Scottish band, The Imagineers have just released their new single If I See You Again on Rockshot Magazine. The group have got a great response from The Late Late Show,The Scotsman, The Daily Record and The Evening Times as well as performing live at festivals T in The Park and Wickerman. Their new album, Utopian Dreams out on 24th February 2017 on Hit The Light Records.

The Imagineers

The album is full of melodic twists and turns throughout; taking in elements of west coast surf, baroque pop and singer songwriter, giving the album a film score feel. However, there is no denying a clear brill building pop inspiration and the band’s unique take on it, creating a sonic storyboard starring the likes ofBurt Bacharach and David Bowie orchestrated by Ennio Moriccone.

The Imagineers have managed to create an intriguing sound akin to The Growlers combined with a storytelling quality that would make Ben Folds proudLead singer Stevie Young’s (vocals, guitar) undeniable Scottish twang however, as well as the band’s natural cinematic flare, mean that The Imagineers have created a sound uniquely their own.

Utopian Dreams was created and, with the help of producer Tommy Phillips (keys), the record began to take shape. With Scott Forsyth (drums, percussion, backing vocals), David Dunsmuir (bass) and Craig McGown (lead guitar, backing vocals) added to the ranks, The Imagineers were officially reborn.
