Coventry-based artist Tarragon has shared his latest single Blueprint, offering a luminous new glimpse into his forthcoming second album Home At Cofa’s, set for release on 1st May.
Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Callum Pickard, Blueprint is a rich blend of acoustic pop and indie electronica, pairing shimmering guitar textures with delicate electronic flourishes. The track is elevated by a dynamic rhythmic pulse from Julien Barbagallo, known for his work with Tame Impala, adding a buoyant energy that underscores the song’s sense of optimism.
Lyrically, Blueprint captures the fragile excitement of new love, tracing the emotional uncertainty and possibility that comes with early connection. Pickard describes it as a reflection on growth through experience—embracing missteps, risk-taking, and the gradual understanding that unfolds between two people.
The single follows a string of previously released tracks from Home At Cofa’s, including Tucked In Despair and Kiss Me On The Line (feat. My Brightest Diamond). Across these releases, Pickard has built a cohesive sonic world that blends intimate songwriting with expansive production, drawing on a wide network of collaborators. Contributors across the album include Juan Ariza, as well as renowned mastering engineers Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone.
Additional musicians appearing on the project include CJ Camerieri of Bon Iver, John Waugh of The 1975, and members connected to acts such as The War On Drugs, Big Red Machine and The National—further enriching the album’s textured, collaborative feel.
Despite this broad musical palette, Home At Cofa’s remains deeply personal. Named after the historic Cofa’s Tree—linked to the origins of Coventry—the album explores themes of belonging, identity and place. Written while Pickard balanced a series of public-facing jobs, from Covid testing to food delivery and postal work, the record captures a unique perspective on everyday life and human connection.
Musically, the album promises an immersive blend of ethereal indie and electronica, with Pickard pushing his sound further than ever before. It’s a project shaped by both solitary reflection and collaborative energy, resulting in a body of work that feels intimate yet expansive.
With Blueprint, Tarragon continues to build anticipation for what is shaping up to be a defining release—one rooted in personal experience but resonating far beyond it.
