Tenille Townes has confirmed her long-awaited return to the UK this autumn, expanding her Living Room Tour in support of her newly released album The Acrobat.
The Canadian-born, Nashville-based songwriter will bring her stripped-back, storytelling-focused live show to Cardiff, London, Manchester and Glasgow this September and October, marking her first UK dates in some time. The announcement follows a landmark week for Townes, which included a performance at the iconic Grand Ole Opry.
The Acrobat, Townes’ third studio album, represents a significant creative shift. Self-produced and recorded largely on her own, the record leans into a more intimate, folk-tinged sound, placing her songwriting and vocal delivery firmly at the forefront. It’s a move that highlights the emotional depth and lyrical clarity that have defined her career to date.
Written during a period of personal and professional transition, the album explores themes of identity, change and resilience. Townes has described the project as a reflection on letting go of old patterns and embracing uncertainty, resulting in a body of work rooted in honesty and vulnerability. The minimalist production allows each song to breathe, creating the feeling of a direct, unfiltered connection between artist and listener.
The album also features collaborations with acclaimed trio I’m With Her, as well as songwriting contributions from respected names including Lori McKenna, Amy Wadge and Daniel Tashian. Across the record, Townes balances these collaborations with a number of solo-written tracks, further underlining her growth as an artist.
Since emerging on the international country and Americana scene, Townes has built a reputation for emotionally resonant songwriting and compelling live performances. Her accolades include multiple JUNO Awards and recognition from the Academy of Country Music, while sharing stages with artists such as Stevie Nicks, Shania Twain and Miranda Lambert.
With the Living Room Tour, fans can expect a more personal concert experience, designed to mirror the intimacy of The Acrobat. As Tenille Townes herself notes, UK audiences are among her most engaged, making this return all the more meaningful.
