Newcastle alt-rock trio The Pale White have confirmed details of their third studio album, Inanimate Objects Of The 21st Century, set for release on 27th March Pre-order / save here.
Following the punchy arrival of their self-titled debut and the more introspective tones of The Big Sad, brothers Adam and Jack Hope return with a record that leans harder into urgency, grit and sonic expansion. This latest full-length is positioned as their most ambitious to date, fusing classic rock’s anthemic backbone with a sharper, modern alternative edge.
Crucially, the band have doubled down on independence. After earlier sessions in external studios, The Pale White once again turned inward for this release, writing and recording in their native North East. That shift, first explored on The Big Sad, allowed them to fully embrace creative control—something frontman Adam Hope has previously described as key to unlocking the band’s identity.
Thematically, Inanimate Objects Of The 21st Century reflects on the dissonance of modern life. While technology accelerates at an unprecedented pace, the band explore the unsettling idea that humanity itself risks stagnation. The album’s title points to a world where innovation thrives, yet people feel increasingly disconnected—reduced, in their words, to something closer to “mannequins” in a rapidly evolving digital age.
Positioned as a counterpoint to the subdued nature of its predecessor, the new record is described as its “evil twin”—a faster, louder, and more defiant statement designed to mirror the intensity of the times.
To celebrate the release, the band will hit the road for a run of UK headline shows this April, culminating in a hometown performance in Newcastle.
