Thomas Raggi Announces Star-Studded Solo Debut ‘Masquerade’ Produced By Tom Morello

Thomas Raggi — the acclaimed Italian guitarist best known for his electrifying work with global rock phenomenon Måneskin — has announced details of his long-awaited solo debut Masquerade, due for release on 5th December. The album, produced by Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave icon Tom Morello, marks a bold new era for one of modern rock’s most exciting guitarists.

The eight-track record is a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and pure musical instinct — uniting an extraordinary lineup of artists including Beck, Nic Cester, Alex Kapranos, Maxim, Hama Okamoto, Sergio Pizzorno, Chad Smith, Matt Sorum, Luke Spiller, and Upsahl.

Masquerade was born from an unfiltered passion for rock music and the joy of creation. Every song brings together musicians across generations and genres, from rock and punk to funk and electronic. The result is a raw, unpretentious collection that reflects Raggi’s commitment to music as connection rather than competition.

“This album is the result of a lot of work and dedication,” Raggi explains. “It’s fuelled by the desire to share my story through music and to explore new depths within myself through experimentation and discovery. But it also came together naturally — what started as Tom inviting me to jam evolved into something magical. Seeing so many of my musical heroes join in reminded me that music knows no boundaries. You just have to follow your instinct.”

The album’s lead single, Getcha!, co-written with Beck, features Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums and lyrics by Jet’s Nic Cester, kicking off the project with swagger and unfiltered groove. Elsewhere, Kasabian’s Sergio Pizzorno contributes to the gritty Cat Got Your Tongue, Maxim lends his dark lyrical edge to Fallaway, and Upsahl co-writes the shimmering Lucy. Throughout the record, Raggi’s signature guitar work cuts through with clarity and confidence — melodic yet explosive, classic yet futuristic.

Producer Tom Morello described the collaboration as “a chance to champion rock ’n’ roll and show that it still matters.” He added, “Thomas and I connected over our shared Italian roots and our passion for guitar-driven music. From our first meeting, we knew we wanted to build something that celebrates everything we love about this art form.”

Other collaborators echoed the same sentiment. Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand called his experience “a joy — the kind of recording that captures the spirit of a great rock song but brings something new and personal to it.”

Since Måneskin’s meteoric rise, Thomas Raggi’s blend of classic rock energy and modern attitude has captivated millions worldwide. With Masquerade, he steps into the spotlight as not just a guitarist but a visionary artist — one unafraid to challenge convention, blur genres, and collaborate with legends who helped define the music that inspired him.

At its heart, Masquerade is a love letter to rock ’n’ roll — an album made by musicians who live for the craft, for the stage, and for the connection that only music can create.
