Twinnie Shares New Single ‘Woah Man’

by | Mar 7, 2025

A UK artist who is making an increasingly substantial impact in the Nashville scene, Twinnie excels at uniting country’s storytelling heart with an instantly appealing pop energy and determined self-empowerment. Those traits all shine proudly as Twinnie shares her brand new single Woah Man.

Opening with a sassy R&B strut, Woah Man launches into anthemic pop-country territory as Twinnie’s consistently classy voice affirms the incredible powers of inspiring women everywhere. It’s a serious point made in rousing and engaging style, with Twinnie audibly relishing punchy, women-first lyrics such as, “Close a business deal with a baby on my hip.”

Appropriately enough, Woah Man was the product of Twinnie’s own non-profit initiative I Know A Woman, which aims to support female creatives with funding, opportunities and community. She wrote the song at a I Know A Woman writing camp in collaboration with John Davidson and solo artist Abby Anderson, before co-producing the track alongside KK Johnson (Dasha) and Brandon Paddock (Dan + Shay).

Twinnie says: “This song is a global statement to highlight the incredible women around the world in all industries, whether it be our nurses, doctors, creatives, politicians, teachers or your stay at home mums. It signifies the resilience and power of what it is to be a woman and celebrates all those that have come before us.

The person I think of when I sing this is a woman that raised three children as a single mother working four jobs with the help of her mum. She has dedicated her life to taking care of her children. To others she may not be a Nobel Prize winner or hold a world record, but to me she embodies what it is to be a woman and the best mum in the world.

Heavily inspired by Aretha Franklin’s ‘Respect’, Whoa Man commands a man to listen in a way that is not above each other but equal.”

Britainicana Is Louder That Americana: Westside Cowboy Stampede Through Portsmouth

Manchester-based quartet Westside Cowboy have only been together since 2023, but have already caused a stir. They have even coined a genre of their own – Britainicana. Even though the name suggests US country with a miserable and sarcastic British twist, they have created something much more fun.

Midweek Metal Mass: Lacuna Coil Blaze Through Leeds Stylus

Italian goth heavyweights Lacuna Coil turn Tuesday into a blackout ritual at Leeds Stylus, backed by a fired-up opening assault from Florida bruisers Nonpoint.

Nonpoint hit the stage like they’ve been itching for it all day. Elias Soriano stalks the mic with clipped precision, spitting hooks and commands in equal measure. Robb Rivera goes straight for the gut behind the kit, while Adam Woloszyn grinds out bass lines with industrial weight. Guitarist’s Jaysin Zeilstra and Rasheed Thomas add bite and distortion, feeding the noise without ever tipping it into clutter. The band sound more drilled-in than on their last UK run — tighter, sharper, still proudly abrasive.
