U2 are returning to stadiums in 2027 with Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth, a major world tour that will see Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. reunite on stage for their first stadium dates since 2019. The newly announced UK and European leg includes two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Wolf Alice joining the band as special guests across the European dates.
The tour takes its name from The Greatest Show On Earth, the latest single from U2’s forthcoming sixteenth studio album, Carnaval De Luz, which is due for release on 13th November 2026 through Island Records. The new record marks the band’s first album of new material in nine years and arrives during their 50th anniversary year.
The European dates begin in Stockholm on 26th April, with two performances at Strawberry Arena, before moving on to Paris, Lisbon, Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Milan. The UK shows will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 18th and 19th June. Further dates in Spain are expected to be announced, while North American dates are also set to follow.
Wolf Alice will provide support throughout the European run, bringing their own acclaimed catalogue to some of the continent’s biggest stadium stages alongside one of rock’s most enduring live acts.
The announcement follows the rapid sell-out of the first run of shows in Latin America, prompting additional performances in Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires. Beck will support U2 on those dates.

For U2, the return to stadiums represents another ambitious chapter in a live career built on continually reinventing the concert experience. From the groundbreaking Zoo TV Tour in 1991 to their recent 40-show residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, the band have consistently pushed the boundaries of stage production and technology. The Greatest Show On Earth promises to bring that ambition back to the stadium environment, combining large-scale spectacle with a setlist spanning the group’s entire catalogue.
The band describe the tour as a challenge to themselves to deliver an unforgettable experience, saying: “A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of colour, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”
The tour announcement comes shortly after U2 celebrated their 50th anniversary on 25th September with a lunchtime performance for students and teachers at their former school, Mount Temple Comprehensive in Dublin, followed by a surprise appearance on Grafton Street.
Although the 2027 dates will take the band across Europe and beyond, Ireland remains firmly in their plans. The Edge has confirmed that the wider touring schedule is expected to conclude at home in 2028, saying: “We can’t say too much about the next leg of The Greatest Show On Earth – we’re still figuring it out – but what we can say is, we’ll be wrapping it up in Ireland. There’s nowhere else we’d want to be for that party.”
The tour’s new single, The Greatest Show On Earth, is co-written by U2 and Brian Eno and is the third track to be unveiled from Carnaval De Luz. Exploring the story of lovers fighting to maintain faith in one another, as well as faith itself, the song is accompanied by a music video directed by longtime collaborator Anton Corbijn. Shot in the Californian desert, the film presents a satirical portrayal of the band as a religious cult in which women do all the heavy lifting.
