Video Premiere Of Adam Giles Levy’s The Ghosts

by | Sep 6, 2018

English rock singer-songwriter Adam Giles Levy gives us a taste of what’s to come with his new video-single, The Ghosts, which is taken from his upcoming EP, Peninsula. The new video features Adam and his band and was filmed on location outside Barcelona, Spain with the spectacular Montserrat mountain as a backdrop.

Making his name out on the road, the emerging UK artist has a talent for creating music that is instinctive and honest. Whether solo or accompanied by his band, Adam’s soaring, gritty voice delivers heartfelt songs that are inspired by poetry and observations of life.

Written during a tour of Spain, The Ghosts was inspired by the story of a people’s struggle to save their town from a major infrastructure project. It was a struggle that they lost, leading to their relocation. The reservoir that resulted from this project is a beautiful place, with a shady past. The video was directed, filmed, and produced by Bilbao-based film production house Media Attack who were also at the helm for the official video to Unravelled from Adam’s debut EP of the same name. Featured in the video are Laura Solla on guitar, Jack Usher on drums, and Joseph Rideout on the bass.

The single showcases Adam Giles Levy’s style of powerful, bold, and explosive alternative rock that is steeped in the blues.

Searching for reinvention Adam left London for Vancouver in 2012 where he spent time performing, writing, and recording. While in Vancouver, Adam met his now long-term producer and collaborator, Alex Gamble. Together they recorded two demo records and Adam’s debut EP, Unravelled, which was released in 2016. Following its release, Adam headed out on the road playing close to 200 shows in Canada, Spain, and the UK. Unravelled, which explores issues of acceptance and connectedness, was also featured on BBC Music Introducing and Spanish national radio station, RNE 3.

13th September 2018 will see the self-release of Adam’s second EP, Peninsula. With the aim of capturing the immediacy of a live performance, much of this new EP was recorded in single takes with his band during five days in a studio deep in the Catalan countryside. The result is alternative rock with an authentic rawness that could have been lost through over-production.

Peninsula opens with a killer riff on and the untamed energy of Mightier Than Your Stone. The voice of the sea as it resists the barrage of human intrusion, you can almost feel the force of waves crashing against cliffs. Ominous and dark with heavy, swampy riffing, Adam’s interpretation of John Paul White’s What’s So reminds us not to forget our roots. A people’s fight against bureaucracy is at the heart of the contagious third track and lead single, The Ghosts. Inspired by novel The Good Father by Noah Hawley, the raw and bluesy Shadow Son showcases Adam’s gritty, soaring vocals and the sound of Laura Solla’s timeless slide guitar. The contrasting and dreamy Last of the Light, with its absorbing guitar riff, instrumental layers, and Nina Polverino’s haunting backing vocal, carries us calmly to the end of this stunning collection of new tracks that inspired Vancouver based artist Anders Petersen to create the striking cover artwork.

Peninsula will be officially released on 13th September 2018 and will be supported by a European tour including dates in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and The Netherlands, culminating in the new year in the UK.

Garbage Celebrate Three Decades Of Defiance At London’s Roundhouse

Thirty years into a career built on challenging convention, Garbage arrive at London’s Roundhouse looking anything but content to trade on nostalgia. Despite three decades of touring the capital, tonight marks the band’s first appearance at the iconic Camden venue, and from the moment Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, Butch Vig and touring bassist Nicole Fiorentino step onto the stage, they perform with the urgency of a band still determined to push forwards rather than look back.

Full Circle At O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire: Lifehouse Return To London In Intimate Acoustic Triumph

There are gigs that simply entertain, and then there are gigs that transport you. Lifehouse’s long-overdue return to London at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire is very much the latter. Eleven years since their last visit to the capital, Jason Wade and longtime guitarist Steve Stout strip everything back for the second of two London acoustic shows—following the previous evening’s performance at nearby Bush Hall—and in doing so remind a packed Shepherd’s Bush Empire exactly why these songs have endured for a quarter of a century.

Duran Duran Crown A Sun-Soaked Day Of Pop Royalty At BST Hyde Park 2026

It was yet another warm, sunny London day, the start of the country’s next heatwave, as thousands descended on Hyde Park for the final day of the second BST Hyde Park weekend of 2026. There was another event looming over the evening too: England’s World Cup Round of 16 clash with Mexico, kicking off at the decidedly unsociable hour of 1am. Football could wait though. Sunday belonged to disco legends, glam-pop icons and one of Britain’s most enduring bands as Duran Duran headlined a day that effortlessly balanced nostalgia with timeless musicianship.
