Opening night takes place on Thursday 9th October at Oslo, London, where alt-pop artist girli will be joined by Dirt Flirt, the solo project of London-based Kit Eaton-Kent. Known for weaving vulnerable lyricism and queer themes into infectious alt-pop, Dirt Flirt adds a compelling edge to the show’s line-up.

The following evening, Friday 10th October, brings last year’s Mercury Prize winners English Teacher to Hangar 34 in Liverpool, supported by rising Leeds artist Neve Cariad. Cariad has been turning heads with her blend of emotional, honest songwriting and haunting instrumentals spanning indie-country to art rock. Speaking about the show, she said: “We felt it incredibly important to help those who have been affected, and continue to be affected, by the wars and genocides that perpetuate.”

Closing the run on Sunday 12th October at London’s iconic 100 Club, Katy J Pearson will headline with support from Jimmy Means Smut and Sarah Meth. Folk-rock artist Jimmy Means Smut – the project of Jasmine Miller-Sauchella – is celebrated for her exploration of raw emotion and human nature, while Sarah Meth’s dream-pop-infused soundscapes bring warmth and intimacy to the bill.

Jimmy Means Smut commented: “I’m proud to be supporting War Child’s Day Of The Girl, in solidarity with girls and women affected by conflict around the world. It’s important that we stand with girls living in war zones, amplify their voices, and work towards a world where their hopes aren’t lost to violence, but instead nurtured with dignity, opportunity and freedom.”

The Day Of The Girl concerts are part of War Child’s mission to support women and girls living in conflict zones, where gender inequality and violence are widespread. Since its launch in 2021, the initiative has raised over £250,000 to fund specialist mental health support, education, safe spaces, health care, legal aid, and job training for those most at risk.

Amy Macdonald Warms A Frozen Hammersmith Apollo With Heart, Humour & Huge Hits

“Are we having a nice time so far? Are we getting a bit warmer?” Amy Macdonald grins, peering out at a Hammersmith Apollo audience bundled into coats and scarves. A smaller Tuesday night crowd didn’t dull the spark – instead it made the gig feel like a secret show shared only between the band and the diehards. And the band fed off it.
