Chet Faker Shares Stirring New Single ‘Far Side Of The Moon’ & Announces Second London Show

by | Jul 20, 2025

Australian music icon Chet Faker returns with a heart-rending new single, Far Side Of The Moon, his first release since 2023’s Something Like This, and it marks a striking new chapter for one of alt-pop’s most celebrated voices. The track arrives with a cinematic new video and the announcement of a second headline London show at HERE At Outernet on 24th October, following a rapid sell-out of the first date.

Clocking in at just over three minutes, Far Side Of The Moon is a stunning meditation on emotional burnout and the imbalance that love can bring when it becomes all-consuming. With his signature mix of dusky electronics and soulful vulnerability, Chet Faker — the moniker of acclaimed producer and songwriter Nick Murphy — captures the aching realisation that sometimes love stretches us too far. “It’s about stretching yourself too thin for someone you love to the point where it’s not healthy for the relationship at all,” Murphy explains.

Laced with poetic introspection and swirling production, the track is another leap forward in a career defined by constant reinvention. Murphy delivers lines of disorientation and longing with a rawness that makes Far Side Of The Moon feel both intensely personal and universally relatable — a hallmark of his most beloved work.

Since first capturing the world’s attention in 2011 with the viral Thinking In Textures EP, Chet Faker has remained a maverick force on the global music scene. That release earned him Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Best Independent Single/EP at the Australian Independent Records Awards, while his irresistible cover of Blackstreet classic No Diggity became a viral sensation, soundtracking a Super Bowl commercial.

His 2014 debut album Built On Glass was a phenomenon, debuting at #1 in Australia, spawning hits like Talk Is Cheap and Gold, and winning five ARIA Awards. Talk Is Cheap was even voted #1 on Triple J’s Hottest 100, further cementing his status as a generational voice.

Not one to remain creatively static, Murphy has since released several projects under his own name and collaborated with artists such as Flume and Marcus Marr. In 2021, he returned to the Chet Faker moniker with the Hotel Surrender album, featuring the groove-heavy hit Low.

Now, with Far Side Of The Moon, Murphy delivers shimmering proof that his creative evolution is far from complete. The new single fuses heartfelt songwriting with a rich sonic atmosphere, offering fans both a moment of quiet reflection and a reason to be excited for what’s next. With demand sky-high for his return to UK stages, a second show at HERE at Outernet in London’s West End has been added for 24th October, giving fans another opportunity to witness his inimitable live presence in an intimate setting.
