Feature: Marianas Trench, Out Of The Abyss

by | Apr 2, 2017

The punk/emo rock band from Vancouver – Marianas Trench is hitting road. “EUROPE! Guess who’s coming back this May? It’s us. Returning to your glorious continent on “The Final Countdown” tour, we’re back at full strength and ready to finish what we started, and then some. New dates, makeup dates, new cities, old cities – stoking! Can’t wait to see everyone soon. Bring your squirrelin’ pail cuz this is gonna get furry!” the band has declared.

Last year Canadian band toured Europe for the very first time and they took it by the storm. Now, they’re back, kicking off in Bristol on May 1st. Seventeen cities, ten UK’s dates, six countries – the upcoming tour looks impressive and will promote the fourth Marianas Trench studio album, Astoria.

Since their 2006 debut, Fix Me, Marianas Trench has had two Certified Platinum-selling records (Masterpiece Theatre, Ever After), chart-topping hits including Who Do You Love, Fallout and Haven’t Had Enough, garnered multiple awards, and number one videos. Frontman Josh Ramsay also received a Grammy nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen’s breakthrough smash Call Me Maybe.

Watch their latest video Who Do You Love and get ready for the upcoming Spring shows.

Good Grief, Bastille Show No Bad Blood At The O2 Arena

Tonight was a night of reflection. Of celebration. Fifteen years in, Bastille sound as good, and appeal to more people than ever. The fourth time the London band have played the biggest arena in the capital and they feel at home on this stage this size, with their visuals, their anthems and their devout relationship with their fans, they belong here.

Amy Macdonald Warms A Frozen Hammersmith Apollo With Heart, Humour & Huge Hits

“Are we having a nice time so far? Are we getting a bit warmer?” Amy Macdonald grins, peering out at a Hammersmith Apollo audience bundled into coats and scarves. It’s a question that becomes a running joke throughout the night — because despite the November chill and the decidedly frugal heating, Macdonald sets about warming the 5,000-capacity venue the only way she knows how: with humour, heart, and a powerhouse performance that leaves no seat unshaken.
