Glastonbury Festival 2024 Drop Theatre & Circus And Kidzfield Lineups

by | May 6, 2024

As we count down the days until the gates at Somerset’s Worthy Farm swing open for another magical Glastonbury Festival, the area lineups are dropping thick and fast! And this weekend, we’ve had a double dose as both the child-focussed Kidzfield and wider Theatre & Circus area have announced who will be in attendance for the 2024 edition. If you have children and wondered what it’s like to experience the festival with them en-tow, do check out our very own Rockshot Magazine experiences through the years: 2017, 2019, 2022 & 2023.

The Kidzfield is only open and accessible to children and those responsible for them, so it provides an exclusive, fun-filled escape for families from the rest of the raucous festival. The Kidzfield Big Top is the site’s “main stage” and will this year bring back Andy & The Odd Socks and Doc Brown in addition to resident star Basil Brush.

But the Kidzfield is so much more than the Big Top, with loads of activities for kids of all ages. The Experimakers is fabulous for those of a scientific persuasion while arts and crafts of all sorts as well as musical instrument workshops will keep young creative minds busy.

There are fabulous hand-cranked rides and the Kidzfield’s own Helter Skelter! The magical pink castle is always a fun attraction that little ones simply can’t resist. At the rear there is Little Kidz Area for tinier tots.

An alternative to the music stages, the Theatre & Circus area simply cannot be described and simply must be experienced. But you’ll find indoor and outdoor experiences going on throughout the weekend. There will be death-defying high-rise artists, comedy stars and a roaming menagerie of weird and wonderful acts. This simply must be seen and experienced as part of any Glastonbury Experience.

You’ll also find the Glastonbury Press in this area, with two free editions coming out over the weekend as well as posters by famed artist Stanley Donwood printed at the site on sale.

The Saints @ Electric ballroom (Peter McDonnell)

The Miraculous Second Coming Of The Saints ’73-’78 At London’s Electric Ballroom

There are comebacks, and then there are resurrections. For punk devotees, the return of The Saints ’73–’78 — the latest live incarnation of the legendary Melbourne outfit — firmly belonged in the latter category. With original members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay at the helm, and an inspired line-up completed by Mick Harvey, Mark Arm, Peter Oxley, and a three-piece brass section led by Terry Edwards, the Electric Ballroom felt less like a gig and more like a communal rite of appreciation for one of punk’s most quietly revolutionary bands.
