SOPHIE GREY. Reaches For The Moon With Euphoric New Single ‘Lunar Highs (Hands Go Up)’

by | Jun 27, 2026

Rising electro-pop artist SOPHIE GREY. has unveiled her shimmering new single Lunar Highs (Hands Go Up), a euphoric slice of synth-driven pop arriving just ahead of June’s Strawberry Moon and setting the tone for a busy summer of high-profile live performances.

Released three days before the celestial event, Lunar Highs (Hands Go Up) embraces the energy and symbolism of the Strawberry Moon, blending soaring melodies, sparkling synth textures and irresistible dancefloor rhythms into what Sophie describes as her signature “Retro Electro” sound. The track captures the feeling of surrendering to the moment, hands raised beneath a glowing night sky, as music and movement become one.

The timing of the release is no coincidence. Traditionally associated with celebration, abundance and the arrival of midsummer, the Strawberry Moon provides the perfect backdrop for a song built around freedom, connection and late-night euphoria.

Speaking about the new release, Sophie explains: “Lunar Highs (Hands Go Up) is that unforgettable feeling one feels when the party goes so late that the moonlight becomes electric and the night might never end. Now imagine that feeling on the moon as your hands go up all night!”

Accompanying the single is a visually striking new music video directed by Maximilian Stafford, expanding SOPHIE GREY.’s distinctive Retro Electro universe into an ultraviolet-soaked lunar dreamscape. Neon colours, fluorescent lighting and futuristic visuals combine to create a vibrant world that mirrors the song’s uplifting atmosphere while continuing the immersive aesthetic that has become synonymous with her project.

The new single follows the release of Cyberspace, which introduced fans to the next chapter of Sophie’s creative evolution, exploring the intersection between technology, memory and modern pop. Together, the two releases continue to establish a cohesive sonic and visual identity that draws equally from classic synth-pop influences and contemporary electronic production.

Entirely self-produced, SOPHIE GREY. writes, arranges, performs and produces her own music. A classically trained pianist, she combines live instrumentation with polished electronic production, crafting infectious pop hooks that have earned her growing recognition on both sides of the Atlantic.

Her theatrical live performances have also become a defining part of the project. Alongside elaborate costumes and cinematic staging, audiences are introduced to “B.OB”, her robotic DJ companion, extending the Retro Electro universe beyond the studio and onto the stage.

This summer promises to be one of Sophie’s biggest yet. Following US support dates with AJR, she’ll return to the UK for a series of major appearances, including supporting Duran Duran at London’s BST Hyde Park and joining Grace Jones, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Soul II Soul at Crystal Palace Bowl before performing at Manchester Pride.

With Lunar Highs (Hands Go Up), SOPHIE GREY. continues to build momentum as one of the UK’s most distinctive emerging electro-pop artists, pairing infectious songwriting with ambitious visuals and a fully realised artistic world that feels both nostalgic and unmistakably futuristic.

Upcoming UK Live Dates:

JULY
5th – Hyde Park, London (supporting Duran Duran)
31st – Crystal Palace Bowl, London (supporting Grace Jones, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Soul II Soul)

Garbage Celebrate Three Decades Of Defiance At London’s Roundhouse

Thirty years into a career built on challenging convention, Garbage arrive at London’s Roundhouse looking anything but content to trade on nostalgia. Despite three decades of touring the capital, tonight marks the band’s first appearance at the iconic Camden venue, and from the moment Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, Butch Vig and touring bassist Nicole Fiorentino step onto the stage, they perform with the urgency of a band still determined to push forwards rather than look back.

Full Circle At O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire: Lifehouse Return To London In Intimate Acoustic Triumph

There are gigs that simply entertain, and then there are gigs that transport you. Lifehouse’s long-overdue return to London at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire is very much the latter. Eleven years since their last visit to the capital, Jason Wade and longtime guitarist Steve Stout strip everything back for the second of two London acoustic shows—following the previous evening’s performance at nearby Bush Hall—and in doing so remind a packed Shepherd’s Bush Empire exactly why these songs have endured for a quarter of a century.

It was yet another warm, sunny London day, the start of the country’s next heatwave, as thousands descended on Hyde Park for the final day of the second BST Hyde Park weekend of 2026. There was another event looming over the evening too: England’s World Cup Round of 16 clash with Mexico, kicking off at the decidedly unsociable hour of 1am. Football could wait though. Sunday belonged to disco legends, glam-pop icons and one of Britain’s most enduring bands as Duran Duran headlined a day that effortlessly balanced nostalgia with timeless musicianship.
