Iceage Unleash Ferocious New Single ‘The Weak’ Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Copenhagen post-punk force Iceage have shared their blistering new single The Weak, the latest preview of their forthcoming album For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter, set for release on 29th May.

Following the momentum of previous single Ember, The Weak sees the band at full throttle—driven by jittery guitars, restless energy and a sense of barely-contained chaos that has long defined Iceage’s sound. It’s a track that surges forward with urgency before breaking into moments of release, capturing the unpredictable intensity that has made the band such a compelling presence over the past two decades.

Marking their first album in five years, For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter finds Iceage refining their approach without sacrificing their raw edge. Recorded at Silence Studio in rural Sweden—where they also tracked 2014’s Plowing Into The Field Of Love—the band aimed to recapture a similarly immediate and instinct-driven process. Working with producer Nis Bysted, the sessions were deliberately stripped back, favouring live takes and minimal overdubs to preserve the spontaneity of performance.

The result is an album that feels both tightly constructed and gloriously unrestrained. Across its runtime, the record balances melody and abrasion, blending detuned riffs, choral flourishes and unexpected sonic textures into something that feels alive and unpredictable. There’s a sense of joy running through the chaos too—an embrace of playing for the sheer thrill of it, rather than adhering to any fixed aesthetic.

Having spent years honing their craft on stages around the world, Iceage channel that experience into a record that feels immediate and vital. Lyrics, written shortly before recording, add to that sense of urgency, giving the album a cohesive emotional core without losing its spontaneity.

With The Weak, Iceage offer another glimpse into what promises to be one of their most dynamic releases yet—an album that captures both their evolution and their enduring refusal to stand still.
