James Morrison Announces Long-Awaited New Album ‘Fight Another Day’, UK Headline Tour This September

by | May 29, 2025

BRIT Award-winning singer-songwriter James Morrison returns this autumn with his most personal, soul-stirring work to date. His sixth studio album, Fight Another Day, lands on 3rd October 2025, marking his first full-length release in six years — and with it comes a UK headline tour this September, including dates in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London.

Out now, the album’s title track and lead single Fight Another Day sets the emotional tone for the record: a defiant, soul-powered anthem that finds Morrison wrestling with struggle, vulnerability, and ultimately, hard-won hope. “When I leaned into how I was feeling, that’s when the songs started coming,” says Morrison. “Every day was a bit of a battle, but this album is about finding light in the dark. These songs come from somewhere truthful — and hopefully, they help people feel better, nod their heads, stamp their feet, and sing along.”

Written in the wake of personal struggles and shaped by emotional self-reflection, Fight Another Day captures the raw edge that first propelled Morrison to the top of the charts in the mid-2000s — now with even greater depth and maturity. From his earliest days fighting for recognition, to the catharsis of therapy and creative rediscovery, this album sees Morrison reemerge not only with a renewed voice but a renewed purpose.

Produced alongside long-time collaborator Mark Taylor, the album channels Morrison’s signature blend of gravelly blues, soul-soaked balladry, and groove-laden R&B — but also expands his palette with nods to Stevie Wonder, George Harrison, Imagine Dragons, and AWOLNATION.

He’s joined on the record by a roll call of top-tier songwriting talent, including Eg White (two-time Ivor Novello winner), Daniel Merriweather, Connor Reeves, and Andy Platt (Young Gun Silver Fox).

“It’s about reminding yourself what’s good,” Morrison says. “Convincing yourself you’ve got enough strength to keep the fight going.”

To celebrate the release, James Morrison will hit the road for four intimate headline shows this September.
