South London six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw have officially released their long-awaited debut album Cannonball, marking a major milestone for one of the UK’s most exciting young alternative bands. Arriving after months of anticipation and a string of acclaimed singles, the record lands alongside a new stripped-back live session and a packed schedule of UK and international live dates.

The release caps off an extraordinary year for the band, whose reputation as one of Britain’s most thrilling live acts continues to grow. Last month they delivered one of the standout performances of Latitude Festival, tearing through a blistering set inside a packed Sunrise Arena tent which Rockshot Magazine went along to check out that showcased exactly why the six-piece have become one of the most talked-about names on the UK’s festival circuit.
Produced by Seth Evans and Margo Broom at London’s legendary RAK Studios, Cannonball builds on the momentum created by recent singles Only Girl, Nosedive, Get Up & Dance and the BBC 6 Music-supported Adam & Steve. Across eleven tracks, the album effortlessly shifts between explosive art-punk, soaring indie rock and moments of striking vulnerability, capturing the emotional intensity of youth with remarkable confidence.
The band’s ambitious songwriting has already earned widespread critical acclaim, with many praising the album’s fearless experimentation, memorable hooks and emotional depth. Rather than settling into a single genre, Cannonball embraces unpredictability, combining theatrical flourishes, abrasive guitars, violin-led textures and soaring vocal harmonies into a record that feels both immediate and adventurous.
Drummer Lola Cherry explained that the band’s original vision was to make “a whole record of bangers,” before realising the quieter, more introspective moments ultimately became just as essential to their identity.

Having already sold out London’s Scala, completed multiple sold-out UK headline runs, impressed at SXSW and appeared at festivals across Europe, the band now look poised to make the leap onto even bigger stages.

Alongside the album’s release, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have also shared a new intimate bedroom live session featuring performances of Something Else To Give and Nosedive, offering fans a more stripped-back perspective on two of the album’s standout tracks.
The band are currently celebrating Cannonball with a series of in-store performances before embarking on an extensive UK and Ireland headline tour this autumn. Several dates have already sold out, underlining the remarkable demand surrounding one of Britain’s fastest-rising alternative acts. Later this year they will also head to North America for their first-ever US headline shows.
