Maya Lane Announces New Single ‘I Don’t Know You Yet’ And Debut London Headline Show Ahead Of New EP

by | Jul 17, 2025

Rising UK pop-country star Maya Lane continues her impressive 2025 trajectory with the release of a stunning new single, I Don’t Know You Yet, out now. The introspective, stripped-back track offers a poignant taste of her forthcoming EP, The Hurt And The Healing, due out on 4th September, and precedes her debut headline show at London’s The Grace on 3rd September.

Co-written with Henry Tucker (Anne-Marie, Caity Baser) and Louis Fulford-Smith, and produced by Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi, Mahalia), I Don’t Know You Yet is a dreamy, lullaby-like reflection on romantic projection and longing. With diaristic lyrics and Lane’s characteristically delicate vocals, the single captures a universal feeling of imagining love before it’s fully known.

I Don’t Know You Yet is the age-old tale of imagining you love someone before you actually know them,” Maya explains. “Whether this be convincing yourself you’ve fallen for someone when in reality it’s a version of them in your head, or dreaming up the ‘perfect’ person altogether. It’s a yearning lullaby for that search and uncertainty.”

The new single caps off a monumental year for Lane, who won American Express’s Unsigned competition, earning her a slot supporting Noah Kahan at BST Hyde Park earlier this month. She’s also appeared at C2C Festival, opened for Breland and Margo Price, and is set to perform at The Long Road Festival on 22nd August.

The new EP The Hurt And The Healing is Maya’s third, following 2023’s Diary of an Overthinker and her 2022 debut Childish Games. Featuring previously released tracks including the upbeat, harmony-rich Beyond Alaska, the emotionally raw Never Be Enough, and the bittersweet pop anthem Bitter, the EP sees Lane dive deeper into the duality of heartache and recovery.

“The EP touches on my personal experiences of friendships and relationships (Nice Guy, Bitter), feelings of inadequacy (Never Be Enough) and finally acceptance (Gently, Beyond Alaska),” says Lane. “It’s a journey from hurt to healing.”

With nods to influences like Fleetwood Mac, Kacey Musgraves, HAIM, and Joni Mitchell, Maya Lane is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting new crossover artists — equally at home in the indie-folk, Americana, and modern pop spaces. She’s already earned ten BBC Radio 1 Future Pop plays from Mollie King, and praise from tastemakers.

Her headline show at The Grace on 3rd September marks a major milestone in her upward trajectory, offering a rare chance to catch this emerging talent in an intimate setting before wider acclaim follows.
