Return To Dust Unleash Explosive New Single ‘Sweet Escape’ Ahead Of Sold-Out UK Debut And Arena Tour

by | Jun 29, 2026

Los Angeles alternative rock outfit Return To Dust continue their rapid ascent with the release of their powerful new single Sweet Escape, arriving alongside an atmospheric new music video that further showcases why the quartet have quickly become one of modern rock’s most exciting emerging names.

Built around crushing, fuzz-drenched guitars, soaring vocal harmonies and the band’s trademark grunge-infused sound, Sweet Escape explores the difficult process of walking away from situations that no longer serve you.

Speaking about the track, the band explain: “Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to stop holding on to a losing situation.”

It’s another confident step forward for a band enjoying a remarkable breakthrough year. After topping the US Active Rock Radio chart with Bored, Return To Dust have firmly established themselves as one of the leading lights of the current rock revival, earning widespread attention with a sound that blends the melodic weight of ’90s alternative rock with a fresh, modern edge.

Their momentum has continued throughout 2026. Alongside winning the iHeartRadio Music Awards’ ‘On The Verge’ honour, the quartet have spent much of the year on the road, supporting Yungblud across North America while also making memorable festival appearances throughout Europe, including standout sets at Download Festival, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.

Earlier this year they also surprised fans with an inventive reworking of OutKast’s classic Hey Ya!, transformed into a brooding alternative rock anthem with additional synth production from Mat Mitchell of Puscifer. The performance, filmed at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, further demonstrated the band’s willingness to reinterpret familiar material while retaining their own identity.

Now attention turns to Europe and the UK, where Return To Dust will join heavyweight rock acts Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle for a string of arena shows. Demand has been immediate, with every UK and Ireland date on the run already sold out.

The excitement extends to the band’s first ever UK headline appearance, with their intimate London show at Camden Barfly also selling out well in advance, highlighting the growing appetite for Return To Dust on this side of the Atlantic.

Formed in Los Angeles, the four-piece — vocalist and guitarist Matty Bielawski, bassist and vocalist Graham Stanush, guitarist Sebastian Gonzalez and drummer London Hudson — have steadily built a reputation for emotionally charged songwriting and dynamic live performances. Following their independently released self-titled debut album and 2025’s Speak Like The Dead EP, the band appear poised to make the leap from rising newcomers to genuine rock heavyweights.

With Sweet Escape providing another compelling glimpse of what’s next, Return To Dust show every sign of carrying their remarkable momentum through the remainder of 2026.

Rowena Wise: Bad Things Feel Beautiful

Naarm/Melbourne-based alternative indie folk artist Rowena Wise releases her second solo album on 7th August. Having just released a new music video featuring four minutes of improvised, interpretive dance, one might have expected her to have compiled a positive collection of songs. “There’s a song about realising that the most loving act is to let go of someone, and there’s also a song about sort of complex intimacy within like family dynamics, or within a romantic one, or with friends, or with someone you can’t really label your connection with. And there’s more themes about mental health, all throughout this new album”.

Download Festival Is More Than Just the Metal

I’ve been attending Download Festival since 2005. Every year, as I walk through those gates, I feel something that can be difficult to explain to people who have never experienced it. For a few days each June, I stop feeling like I’m standing on the outside looking in. I belong.
