London-based post-punk electro-rock trio She Made Me Do It have announced the release of their brand-new EP Pulverised, out now across digital platforms and on CD. Formed by former Rachel Stamp members Shaheena Dax (vocals, keyboards) and Will Crewdson (guitars) and completed by Joe Holweger on drums, the band have steadily evolved from their electro-pop roots into a heavier, more streamlined proposition. Pulverised marks their most soul-baring and urgent collection yet.
The EP kicks off with Silver Lining, a high-voltage clash of riffs, pounding rhythms and strident keys that finds Dax confronting themes of grief and heartbreak with unflinching honesty. Next comes The Emotional One, a soaring anthem exploring the tension between feeling and thinking in the midst of fractured relationships. Its rousing chorus, carried by abrasive guitar licks, builds to one of the band’s most impassioned climaxes to date.
The title track Pulverised closes the set with an insistent rush of urgency. Echoing the intensity of early Psychedelic Furs, the song hurtles forward on driving drums and jagged guitars before breaking into a melodic, almost romantic refrain that frames its tale of falling in love on the front line.
Produced by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios and mixed by Nat Love at Kangaroo Moon Recording, the EP is accompanied by striking visuals. Long-time visual collaborator Pushing Normal provides the artwork, while videos for Silver Lining and The Emotional One—directed by Craig Griffith—bring the songs to life with stylish flair.
With Pulverised, She Made Me Do It have doubled down on their darker, harder edge while keeping their knack for melody and emotional candour intact. It’s another step forward for a band who thrive on evolution, intensity, and connection.
