The Molotovs Announce Major UK & Ireland Tour As Debut Album ‘Wasted On Youth’ Fuels Chart Surge

by | Feb 3, 2026

London sibling duo The Molotovs have announced a major UK and Ireland tour as their debut album Wasted On Youth mounts a serious challenge for the top spot in the Official Albums Chart. Released via Marshall Records, the record’s strong midweek showing places the band firmly in the chart conversation, underlining a momentum built through relentless live work rather than hype or algorithms.

Teenage siblings Matt Cartlidge (17) and Issey Cartlidge (19) have already played more than 600 shows, carving out a rapidly growing fanbase the old-fashioned way: on stage, night after night. That commitment is paying off, with Wasted On Youth driven by a surge in physical sales and pre-orders from fans who have packed out venues across the country over the past two years.

The newly announced Welcome To Urbia tour marks a significant step up for the band, including a London headline show at the 2,300-capacity O2 Forum Kentish Town, alongside dates in Nottingham, Brighton, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast and Dublin.

Speaking on the album’s release, Matt said: “After tearing up every dive bar and stage on the circuit, finally unleashing Wasted On Youth feels electric. We’ve lived these songs on the road, pouring every ounce of sweat into every live show. To see that raw energy bottled into our debut album is massive – it’s the payoff we’ve been chasing.”

Issey added: “We’re delighted with the chart success of the album but that’s not what we’re about. Our passion is for getting out around the country, and around the world, playing for audiences new and old – connecting with people who love music as much as we do. That love of music can help build a positivity and optimism sorely lacking elsewhere in 2026.”

Recorded at Marshall Studio with producer Jason Perry and mixed and mastered by Blair Crichton (Dead Pony), Wasted On Youth captures the ferocity and urgency of The Molotovs’ live shows. Featuring drummer Noah Riley alongside Matt and Issey, the album includes singles More More More More, Today’s Gonna Be Our Day, Rhythm Of Yourself and Get A Life.

Musically, the record is a sharp-edged collision of new wave, punk, indie and garage, opening with the blistering Get A Life, a direct swipe at social media toxicity. Across its eleven tracks, Wasted On Youth explores the pressures of coming of age, self-doubt, lockdown fallout and the push-and-pull between individuality and expectation, closing with the defiant rallying cry of Today’s Gonna Be Our Day.

As their debut album continues to resonate both in the charts and on the road, The Molotovs’ upcoming tour looks set to confirm their status as one of the UK’s most exciting new live acts.
