Tide Lines Announce Autumn UK Headline Tour In Support Of New LP ‘Glasgow Love Story’

by | Mar 21, 2025

Tide Lines are making a bigger impact than ever before as they build towards the  release of their highly anticipated new album Glasgow Love Story. Their recent double A-side single By The Quayside / Leaving Town demonstrates their expanding powers at using evocative Scottish narratives to establish an emotional connection, supported by music that flows naturally between driving indie-rock and intimate folk-pop arrangements. Always a huge draw in the live arena, the band also recently performed in front of 67,000 people as they inspired Scotland to a triumphant Six Nations win over Wales at Murrayfield Stadium.

Now Tide Lines continue that ascendant momentum with confirmation of their autumn Glasgow Love Story UK headline tour. It includes their biggest London show to date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, and concludes with a trio of gigs across Scotland at Edinburgh, Stirling and Dundee. Tickets for the tour go on general sale HERE from 10am on Wednesday, March 26th.

Vocalist / guitarist Robert Robertson says: “We can’t wait to get back out on the road for a run of shows that will include some of the songs from the new album. It’s been amazing to see our fans’ reaction to the singles on social media but nothing beats playing live and hearing people sing along! There are a lot of new venues for us on this tour which is exciting. First up, our adopted home city of Glasgow (which inspired the album) and our biggest ever headline show in Rouken Glen Park!”

The autumn headline tour will follow a summer of high profile moments for the band. First up is the biggest headline show of their career to date, a 5000-capacity outdoor event at Glasgow’s Rouken Glen Park on 6th June, a special opening concert for this year’s The Reeling festival. They will also headline the Thursday night at the HebCelt festival; play a free show at Aberdeen’s Quayside Concerts on 20th July with guest Calum Bowie as part of The Tall Ships Race festivities; and are also confirmed for the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

In addition, Tide Lines will also play five special intimate Glasgow Love Story album launch shows across Scotland from May 9th-13th, all of which rapidly sold-out.

Tide Lines are also building up to release the new single Better Days on 28th March. Robert Robertson explains: “Better Days is a song looking back on youthful optimism and togetherness. It reflects the ‘southern bound’ journey that the band took from the highlands of Scotland to Glasgow – a city celebrated in the album as a whole. Both lyrically and musically, it harks back to our folk roots: talking of ‘tales of old acquaintance’ and incorporating more traditional instruments that we recorded in our studio on the Hebridean island of Mull.”

Released via their own independent label, Glasgow Love Story is a deeply personal tribute to the city that has shaped the band’s journey – capturing its people, places, and spirit through evocative storytelling and anthemic indie-folk melodies. Glasgow is very close to the band’s heart. From their first casual meet up in a West End bar in 2016, to subsequent rehearsals in a Finnieston studio, right through to their recent induction into the Barrowland Hall of Fame, Glasgow has remained a central influence in the Tide Lines story.

The record follows the breakthrough success of 2023’s An Ocean Full of Islands which reached #13 in the UK, #1 in Scotland and #2 on the Independent Albums chart. Boosted by extensive Radio 2 support, their shows in support of the record included three consecutive sold-out nights at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom.

The Saints @ Electric ballroom (Peter McDonnell)

The Miraculous Second Coming Of The Saints ’73-’78 At London’s Electric Ballroom

There are comebacks, and then there are resurrections. For punk devotees, the return of The Saints ’73–’78 — the latest live incarnation of the legendary Melbourne outfit — firmly belonged in the latter category. With original members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay at the helm, and an inspired line-up completed by Mick Harvey, Mark Arm, Peter Oxley, and a three-piece brass section led by Terry Edwards, the Electric Ballroom felt less like a gig and more like a communal rite of appreciation for one of punk’s most quietly revolutionary bands.
