Written and produced alongside longtime collaborator and The National man Aaron Dessner, the album marks the latest chapter in Abrams’ rapid rise from bedroom songwriter to one of modern pop’s most compelling voices. Known for her intimate lyricism and understated honesty, Abrams has steadily built a devoted global audience by turning vulnerability into her greatest creative strength.

Hit The Wall arrives as a dramatic introduction to the new record, blending atmospheric production with the confessional songwriting style that has become Abrams’ signature. Speaking recently about the track, the singer described it as the perfect entry point into this new phase of her career, reflecting a sense of emotional clarity and artistic confidence.

The announcement follows a hugely successful period for Abrams after the release of 2024’s The Secret Of Us, an album that transformed her from rising star into a genuine global force. The record topped charts in multiple countries, including the UK, and delivered several of the biggest songs of her career. Tracks such as Close To You, I Love You, I’m Sorry, and That’s So True showcased her evolution from introspective indie-pop newcomer into a fully-fledged arena artist capable of balancing mainstream appeal with emotional depth.

Abrams’ ascent has been fuelled not only by her songwriting but also by relentless touring. Over the last two years she has sold out headline runs across North America and Europe while also reaching even wider audiences through appearances alongside Taylor Swift on selected dates of the record-breaking Eras Tour. Her duet with Swift, us., further cemented her crossover appeal and earned Abrams another GRAMMY® nomination.

Away from music, Abrams’ profile continues to expand. Recently named a house ambassador for Chanel, she has become a major figure in fashion as well as music, fronting campaigns for the iconic brand’s collections. She is also preparing to make her acting debut in the upcoming A24 film Please, directed by Halina Reijn.

With Daughter From Hell, Abrams appears poised to continue her evolution both sonically and personally. While details surrounding the album’s themes remain closely guarded, the title alone hints at a darker and potentially more confrontational direction, suggesting a record that could push her songwriting into even more emotionally raw territory.

As anticipation builds toward the album’s July release, Hit The Wall already signals that Abrams is not content to simply repeat the formula that made her one of pop’s breakout stars. Instead, she seems ready to challenge both herself and her audience once again.
