HIMALAYAS Drop Video For New Single What If…? Ahead Of UK Live Dates

by | Oct 31, 2024

HIMALAYAS have released the video for their new single What If…? out now via Nettwerk Music Group. The eerie video captures an impending apocalypse being brewed up in the lab as the Cardiff four-piece perform the punchy rock track, produced by Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, Skindred).

Regarding the video the band say: “With the What If…? video we wanted to create a sense of discomfort and really capture the ever-present feeling of life going wrong. The disturbing nature of the video really encapsulates the feeling of dread and fear within the song.”

What If…? reflects personal and global problems, while also accepting how little the individual can do to influence the path they are on. It deals with the anxieties of our time and concludes that in order not to be overwhelmed by feelings of helplessness and detachment, the only option is to stop caring and accept the uncertainty of the road ahead.

HIMALAYAS are on a dizzying upward trajectory since the release of their debut album From Hell To Here in 2023, which quickly proved them to be a vital new band in the UK rock scene. It has achieved over 93 million streams and led them to work with the very upper echelons of rock royalty, including co-writing with AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on the recent single V.O.V, while also being asked to support Foo Fighters at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium earlier this summer.

Britainicana Is Louder That Americana: Westside Cowboy Stampede Through Portsmouth

Manchester-based quartet Westside Cowboy have only been together since 2023, but have already caused a stir. They have even coined a genre of their own – Britainicana. Even though the name suggests US country with a miserable and sarcastic British twist, they have created something much more fun.

Midweek Metal Mass: Lacuna Coil Blaze Through Leeds Stylus

Italian goth heavyweights Lacuna Coil turn Tuesday into a blackout ritual at Leeds Stylus, backed by a fired-up opening assault from Florida bruisers Nonpoint.

Nonpoint hit the stage like they’ve been itching for it all day. Elias Soriano stalks the mic with clipped precision, spitting hooks and commands in equal measure. Robb Rivera goes straight for the gut behind the kit, while Adam Woloszyn grinds out bass lines with industrial weight. Guitarist’s Jaysin Zeilstra and Rasheed Thomas add bite and distortion, feeding the noise without ever tipping it into clutter. The band sound more drilled-in than on their last UK run — tighter, sharper, still proudly abrasive.
