The show will celebrate the band’s groundbreaking 1988 debut album Mlah, a record that fused punk attitude with Mediterranean flair and launched the French collective to international acclaim. Featuring the exuberant single Zobi La Mouche, Mlah became an instant cult classic — its energy, wit, and infectious rhythms helping to define a generation of genre-bending world music.

Formed in Paris in 1987, Les Négresses Vertes rose from the ashes of the punk movement to become one of France’s most beloved musical exports. Their unmistakable mix of acoustic rock, gypsy punk, chanson, and Latin rhythms captured imaginations far beyond their homeland. By 1989, remixes of their songs were climbing UK charts, paving the way for a global fanbase and a run of acclaimed releases including Famille Nombreuse (1991), Zigzague (1995), and Trabendo (1999).

Following a triumphant reunion in 2018, the band have played more than 350 shows across Europe, rekindling the wild, celebratory energy that first made them famous. The Zobi Tour continues that legacy, bringing their magnetic live performance — equal parts carnival, cabaret, and punk rebellion — back to London for one unforgettable night.

The 2026 Les Négresses Vertes lineup features: Stéfane Mellino (guitar, vocals), François Tousch (accordion, backing vocals), Iza Mellino (percussion, backing vocals), Mich Ochowiak (trumpet, backing vocals), Gwen Badoux (trombone, backing vocals), and Matthieu Rabaté (drums).

Expect a night of vibrant rhythms, nostalgia, and unstoppable joie de vivre as Les Négresses Vertes bring their distinctive sound — and the spirit of Zobi La Mouche — back to Camden.
