Yorkshire indie-rock favourites Shed Seven have announced their seventh studio album, Shed Seven, due for release on 8th January 2027. Marking a fitting milestone in the band’s three-decade career, the self-titled record arrives alongside the anthemic new lead single Stand Together, offering the first taste of what promises to be another major chapter in the group’s remarkable resurgence.
The announcement continues an extraordinary run for the band, who have enjoyed one of the most successful periods of their career in recent years. Following the chart-topping success of A Matter Of Time and Liquid Gold, both of which reached No.1 in the UK, Shed Seven have firmly re-established themselves as one of Britain’s most enduring indie acts. Their recent festival appearances and headline shows have demonstrated that their appeal spans generations, with long-time fans and new audiences alike embracing the band’s revitalised momentum.
Lead single Stand Together captures everything that has made Shed Seven such a beloved live act for more than 30 years. Built around soaring melodies, uplifting hooks and an unmistakably anthemic chorus, the track delivers a timely message of unity without sacrificing the energetic indie-rock sound that has defined the band’s catalogue.
Frontman Rick Witter said of the new album: “We are excited to announce the imminent arrival of our 7th studio album which is eponymously titled Shed Seven to honour the fact. We have taken great care in making this album what we believe to be our best yet, and we hope these songs are taken to people’s hearts.”
Speaking about the new single, he added: “Stand Together shows a statement of intent. It’s a call to arms and a rallying cry for some kind of unity in the world we live in today.”
The album announcement follows another standout year for the band. After delivering one of the most talked-about sets at Glastonbury Festival in 2025, Shed Seven continued their live resurgence with a series of major outdoor headline performances and picked up the Best Live Act award at the Independent Music Awards, reflecting the reputation they’ve built through decades of consistently electrifying performances.
Fans won’t have to wait long for another live taste either. To celebrate the announcement, the band are performing a surprise acoustic show from London’s legendary 100 Club tonight, hosted by Steve Lamacq. Tickets disappeared almost instantly, but the performance will be streamed live online, giving fans everywhere the opportunity to experience the intimate set.
Looking ahead, Shed Seven will once again hit the road for the tenth edition of their hugely popular Shedcember tour, with dates across the UK this November and December before the new album arrives in January.
With Shed Seven, the band appear determined not simply to celebrate their past, but to continue building on one of the most unlikely and deserved second acts in modern British indie music.
