Blending post-punk, experimental rock, art pop and industrial textures, the record builds a world that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Alongside the album release, she has also shared the video for standout single Transformers, further expanding the project’s distinctive visual and sonic identity.

The origins of My Life As A Moth trace back to lockdown, when Swedish-born, London-based artist Sofia Palm rediscovered music during a period of isolation. A chance moment—finding a dead moth inside a long-forgotten keyboard—sparked the creation of her debut song and ultimately gave rise to the project’s name and aesthetic. That interplay between fragility and beauty continues to define her work.

Written during a period of personal transformation, The Parade Of The Starlet & The Broken Hearted explores themes of trauma, manipulation and emotional recovery, while also embracing resilience and self-discovery. Through surreal imagery and layered storytelling, the album introduces the symbolic figures of the “starlet” and her “parade,” representing strength and empathy in a fractured world.

The album’s production, handled by Ellie Mason and Keir Adamson, plays a key role in shaping its unique atmosphere. Recorded over the course of a year in a garden studio, the sessions incorporated unconventional sound design, with everyday objects transformed into percussive and textural elements. The result is a sonic palette that feels tactile, unpredictable and alive.
