The Cab have unveiled their latest single Sweet Kerosene, offering a final glimpse into their long-awaited third studio album Chasing Crowns, set for release on 24th April.
The track leans into the band’s signature blend of soaring pop-rock and cinematic emotion, with frontman Alexander DeLeon delivering a commanding vocal performance that captures the intensity of reckless love. Built on vivid imagery and anthemic instrumentation, Sweet Kerosene reflects the band’s renewed creative spark, with the group describing it as a song that “set our creativity and hearts on fire.”
The single follows previous releases Back From The Dead and Locked And Loaded, both of which signal a bold new chapter for the Las Vegas outfit. Notably, Back From The Dead serves as a statement of intent—an anthem of resilience and rebirth that underscores the band’s return after more than a decade without a full-length release.
That absence makes Chasing Crowns all the more significant. Written over a ten-year period, the album draws inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi—embracing flaws and fractures as part of a story rather than something to conceal. It’s a fitting metaphor for a band whose journey has included early success, industry setbacks, and a gradual, determined resurgence.
Formed in Las Vegas in the late 2000s, The Cab quickly rose through the ranks with their debut album Whisper War, which featured collaborations with Patrick Stump and Brendon Urie. Their 2011 follow-up Symphony Soldier cemented their place in the pop-rock landscape, with tracks like Angel With A Shotgun continuing to find new audiences years later through streaming and social media.
Now consisting of DeLeon alongside Alex Marshall, Dave Briggs, Joey Thunder and Chantry Johnson, the band’s return has already been met with strong global demand. Recent live appearances and festival slots have reignited their connection with fans, while their catalogue continues to rack up significant streaming numbers—proof of their enduring appeal.
To support the album, The Cab will embark on their Back From The Dead Tour across the United States this spring, marking their first headline run in over a decade. While no UK or Ireland dates have been announced yet, the momentum behind Chasing Crowns suggests a wider international return may not be far off.
With Sweet Kerosene setting the tone, The Cab’s comeback feels less like a nostalgia trip and more like a reinvention—one that embraces their past while pushing confidently into a new era.
