TIAHN Embraces The Chaos Of Her Twenties On Debut EP ‘LiFe iS wEiRd’

by | May 29, 2026

Brisbane artist Tiahn BergTIAHN — is stepping boldly into the spotlight with the release of her debut EP LiFe iS wEiRd, arriving on 29th May. Bursting with pastel-coloured indie-pop hooks, sharp humour and unapologetic self-awareness, the six-track collection captures the emotional whiplash of navigating your twenties with equal parts sass, vulnerability and theatrical flair.

Blending indie-pop, R&B, jazz flourishes and synth-heavy production, LiFe iS wEiRd feels deliberately unpredictable, mirroring the uncertainty and overstimulation of modern adulthood. Across the EP, TIAHN explores heartbreak, friendship betrayals, ambition, romance and self-discovery, all wrapped in witty lyricism and infectious melodies.

“For my debut EP I wanted the songs to reflect the journey of how I have become the person I am,” the musician explains. “My twenties have been a wild ride and have taught me the world isn’t always fair and people aren’t always who they say they are. I found a lot of joy writing in my rage and turning it into sass.”

Opening track Woman (On My Own Terms) immediately sets the tone, arriving as a bold feminist anthem driven by shimmering synths, punchy guitars and a defiant attitude. Elsewhere, Dodgeball leans into buoyant indie-pop optimism, transforming life’s setbacks into something playful and strangely liberating.

The EP also reveals a softer side. This Is Love strips things back into airy, intimate territory, exploring the calm certainty of genuine connection. Featuring backing vocals from TIAHN’s partner, the track offers one of the project’s most vulnerable moments amid the glitter-coated chaos.

By contrast, More and Liar thrive in oversized drama. Horn arrangements, jazzy textures and theatrical production choices elevate both tracks into emotionally charged centrepieces, with More examining ambition and envy through what TIAHN describes as an “anti-villain anthem,” while Liar channels friendship betrayal into cathartic pop-rock release.

Closing song Bitch Face brings the EP full circle, ending things with humour, confidence and the kind of self-aware charm that has steadily helped TIAHN build momentum within Australia’s independent music scene.

The Queensland Conservatorium-trained artist has already begun making waves thanks to a string of well-received singles and energetic live performances, earning recognition as a semi-finalist in the 2025 International Unsigned Only Music Awards while sharing stages with artists including The Tullamarines and Lou’Ana.

With LiFe iS wEiRd, TIAHN delivers a debut that feels both deeply personal and instantly relatable — a technicolour snapshot of growing pains, emotional contradictions and learning to laugh through the chaos.
