Copenhagen’s 100%WET continue their ascent with the release of their new single Eleanor’s Escape, out now via Crunchy Frog Recordings—marking their first original material of 2026 and another evolution of their self-styled “hypergaze” sound.
Blending shoegaze atmospherics with the pulse of electronic music, Eleanor’s Escape is a track born from contrasting creative environments. Written across multiple locations—including the Lake District, Cornwall and Bristol—the song fuses dreamy, four-to-the-floor electronics with heavier, noisier elements rooted in the band’s early live energy. The result is a widescreen, immersive piece that reflects both geographic and emotional distance.
Formed at Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatoire, 100%WET have quickly carved out a distinct identity, merging dreampop textures with drum and bass intensity. Their debut album established them as one of the more intriguing names in the European alternative scene, while their live performances—including a support slot with Primal Scream—have further cemented their reputation.
After a period of illness that saw the band pause activity and cancel UK appearances, their recent return has been marked by renewed creative energy. A cover of Grimes’ Delete Forever hinted at a more emotionally expansive direction, and Eleanor’s Escape builds on that momentum—shifting toward a more cinematic, open-ended sound.
Alongside the new release, the band have confirmed a busy live schedule, including appearances at SPOT Festival and Roskilde Festival this summer. They have also teased their first-ever UK headline performance, set to take place in London this June.
With Eleanor’s Escape, 100%WET continue to push the boundaries of their hybrid sound—suggesting that their next chapter could be their most ambitious yet.
