Sound Premiere: The Mono LPs, L.O.V.E. & H.A.T.E.

by | Oct 14, 2016

L.O.V.E. & H.A.T.E. is the lead single taken from their new album, State of Decay. It’s a punchy song that makes a poignant statement about how love and hate can be as small as two people in a relationship or as big as two countries at war.

Ste Reid, singer, songwriter and guitarist told RockShot Magazine a little more about the song L.O.V.E. & H.A.T.E

“There’s a thin line between love & hate and how trust can fall apart when emotions run high. The song was born when a manager, who won’t be named, messed the band around and how something so small can be blown up into something so big. But it’s the same in love… just ask my bird!”

The Mono LPs have to be Liverpool’s most  “new” loved post-rock band. Their music is a clever creation of, riff driven rock ‘n’ roll with a twist of cello. Their local BBC radio station has said that they are a “Fantastic band. They just keep getting better and better!”

With a catalogue of gigs including supports and guest spots with The Maccabees and British Sea Power, they have created their own unique sound, one that is full of simple and effective riffs and downright sing-able ear-worms.

Fans include names such as Elvis Costello, Blood Red Shoes and Kyle Falconer from The View who loves the “outstanding vocals”.

The video for L.O.V.E. & H.A.T.E has been released today and shows the band Ste Reid (Vox, Songwriter & Guitar) Vicky Mutch (Cello & Backing Vox) Chris Barlow (Bass) and Daniel Beech (Drums) have fun with multiple exposures.

The single launch for L.O.V.E. & H.A.T.E is at The Buyers Club, Liverpool on 3rd November and the album launch for States Of Decay is on 10th November.

The album is on Pledge Music now for pre-order http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/statesofdecay

Carpenter Brut Unleashes New Single ‘Leather Temple’ And Teases Final Chapter Of The Leather Trilogy

French synthwave powerhouse Carpenter Brut has returned with Leather Temple, a punishing and atmospheric new single that offers the first, ferocious taste of the third and final instalment of his long-running Leather trilogy, due in 2026. Loaded with abrasive beats, metallic textures, and a rising sense of tension, the track arrives as an immediate statement of intent: this concluding chapter will be darker, heavier, and more cinematic than anything that has come before.
